It’s been a busy year and we’re thrilled to share with you some exciting news about what RideShark’s been up to these last months!
1. A new logo, a new focus
Our new logo includes two important elements. First off we’ve dropped the .com. When we started in the early 2000’s the internet was relatively new and calling out a .com made sense. In 2018 it’s redundant – so it’s gone. More importantly, we’re introducing our new tagline of Unified Mobility™, signifying the ultimate goal of having one cohesive integrated seamless portal that delivers integrated transportation options and services to Users. Much more than MaaS, we think the goal of sustainable transportation is to unify all modes, services, and tools. Unified Mobility describes the user experience and end goals – it’s what we want to achieve!
RideShark’s developed a short video to better describe Unified Mobility and our vision for the future. It is our pleasure to invite you to a pre-screening of this video today! We’ll be announcing this new term at the upcoming ACT conference in Anaheim. We hope it’s something that resonates and provides a better focus and direction for the future of transportation. Please find the video below! This video will be open to the public on RideShark.com after its release on Monday, July 29th.

2. Data Security
Data security has always been a priority and focus for RideShark. Protecting your data, and the data of your Users is a critical priority for us. Just this year alone RideShark has undergone five comprehensive Penetration Tests where expert professional 3rd party organizations have tested the system for vulnerabilities. RideShark is pleased to let you know our continuous improvement practices will continue to enhance and strengthen the RideShark back end to provide you with the data security and protection you, and your users, demand. RideShark is ensuring our data and privacy protection complies even under the stringent EU GDPR (General Data Protection Rules).
With this in mind, all client beta sites will now be located at the URL of:
https:// your live production URL name. rideshark.com
This new beta site for each client ensures that a security certificate is active on every beta site. We will be deactivating all other beta URLs as of August 15th, unless you have been directly notified differently by RideShark in advance. All beta branding and functional configurations will remain unchanged.
3. IOS and Android APPs
IOS and Android Apps are now available to add to your site. The Apps include the ability for you to provide a custom app icon design, SSO integration or posting to a dedicated corporate store. Contact RideShark for costing and set up details.
4. Dynamic & Scheduled Single Trip Functionality is Here!
RideShark is excited to introduce our new updated dynamic and scheduled single trip matching functionality, fully integrated into the multimodal rideshare module.
This is ground-breaking, game-changing news! It solidifies and provides a tangible example of true Unified Mobility in action! Here’s why:
• Driver’s trip posts based on actual origin, destination and drive route. Drivers can post a trip or search for riders, dynamically or scheduled.
• Passengers can search or request rides. Passengers can instantly book or request a ride, dynamically or scheduled.
• Driver & Passenger Ratings: Users can rate their driver or passenger, increasing trust and confidence in the system use
• Real-time communications: Users can communicate in real time, in-app, by text or phone, without revealing their phone number
• LiveMap™ tracking. RideShark is introducing the world’s first LiveMap™ tracking where both drivers AND passengers can see where their ride is.
• Integrated in-app payments. All payments are handled by credit card in-system. The custom built RideShark Wallet facilitates payments from passengers to the driver.
• Cost sharing only. The RideShark system automatically limits the amount paid to the driver based on SHARED driving costs. Drivers cannot make a profit and the shared costs are based on prevailing mileage rates set by the Federal or State governments.
We’re already working on other key elements that are derived from the new single trip matching.
• On-Demand vanpooling and On-Demand Transit. RideShark is already in discussions with select clients to expand the new single trip Matching functionality to allow for on-demand vanpooling or on-demand transit – taking advantage of filling empty seats on a real-time basis.
• Payment module expansion. The integrated payment module is sophisticated, flexible and designed for expansion. All modes, all services can be included.
Try out the new single trip functionality today!
The new single trip functionality is on your beta site and is ready for testing. We’ve turned off the credit card payments for now so you can test in the cash only mode. When you’re ready, we’ll activate payments for your final testing. Contact us today for more information, or to arrange a for a personal WebEx meeting to review.
