RideShark Partnering on First On-road Low-Speed Automated Shuttle (LSAS) Trial in Ontario, Canada
November 2, 2020
RideShark is excited to announce our participation in the first on-road trial of a low-speed automated shuttle (LSAS) in Ontario, Canada. The research pilot will take place from November 2nd-13th in Ottawa, Canada’s national capital region and a fast-growing global tech hub.
As a leading mobility company focused on enabling sustainable travel options for people and organizations, RideShark will be leveraging its Unified Mobility™ platform in both English and French for the safe booking, mapping and scheduling of shuttle rides during the pilot. This is an important demonstration project as public transit passengers increasingly expect digital-first, accessible and contactless mobility options.
“We are thrilled to be taking part in this innovative research trial with a number of other great partners,” says RideShark CEO Sharon Lewinson. “Showcasing our ‘on-demand’ booking feature for new vehicle segments such as electric, driverless shuttles is key for us to support the future of sustainable public and community transportation.”
This collaborative research project brings together world-class partners led by Area X.O operated by Invest Ottawa as well as numerous government agencies including Transport Canada, the City of Ottawa and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. The shuttles themselves are provided by EasyMile, an industry leader in driverless technology.
